A bit about me

Hi, my name is Vita Yates and I am a designer and artisan. I have finished my third year of the Bachelor of Industrial Design program at Carleton University in Ottawa – the unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinabe Nation.

I have always had a love and talent for hand crafts and am constantly inspired to learn new mediums and . My education in design has allowed me to approach projects through a user centered lens and learn how to bring a project from an idea through to production. Unafraid to learn new skills and take on challenges, I enjoy exploring various methods to create and communicate my work including prototyping, sketching, and digital mediums.

I value being an active member my community and I strive to make a positive impact through my involvement. I hope to support the people in my communities and my environment we share through the work I do.
